Feel Good EBook for Kids, Tweens, Teens and Adults

Imagine being told how awesome you are every day for the rest of your life - this ebook will do it

‘Have I Told You That…’ is the instant feel good feel awesome book with inspiration for kids, tweens, teens and grown-ups everywhere.

  • Imagine kids growing up knowing how valuable they are for being who they are,
  • Imagine tweens and teens feeling strong in who they are as a person, and
  • Imagine all the adults in the world knowing they are so valued for who they are.

I wrote ‘Have I Told You That…’ as an easy-to-read feel good feel awesome book which can be used as 3 books in one:

  • As a bedtime story for kids,
  • As an inspiration for tweens and teens, and
  • As a reminder for grown-ups everywhere.

Filled with positive affirmations, ‘Have I Told You That...’ is written in two parts.

The first half is for kids and can be read as a story book. The second half is a surprise for older kids and adults where you can tell yourself that you are amazing and awesome.

The real life inspiration for this feel good book

Getting my school kid to sleep

The words in this book ‘Have I Told You That…’ started when I tucked my school kid daughter into bed at night. I wanted to say the most uplifting words to her about how amazing she is as her own person as she closed her eyes.

I wanted her to go to sleep with words that reminded her about her greatness. Instead of me saying only “I love you,” I wanted to add more something specific about her.

One night I told her “Thank you for being you.”

I noticed that when I said these simple words as her eyes started to close, a calming smile came across her face. It was such a beautiful moment.

The next night I remembered to say it again. “Thank you for being you” I said, and her face shone like a star. “Wow, these are a powerful few words” I thought to myself as I turned off the light. I began to think of other words and started to use them – and her face shone again.

I realised how important it was for her to hear these words. I consciously thought of more words to say so that every night a soft gentle smile would come across her face as she closed her eyes.

Feeling too tired to think

I wanted to think of more words but I could never remember any of them when it came to bed time, as my brain and body felt absolutely fried from being a mom.

I kept saying the same few words every night. The following day I would think of other wonderful things to say to her, but as bedtime approached my eyelids were so heavy, and my eyeburn was so intense that I could not remember what to say.

I needed to write everything down in one place so that I could remember what to say – and so the book began – but I  didn’t know it. I was only scribbling on pieces of paper.

Getting School Dad to say awesome things

And then there was school dad. He would come in to say goodnight with a “I love you” to our school kid daughter.

I had reminded him to do the same thing as what I had started doing – to say something about her to help her feel good about herself as she drifted gently off to sleep.

I wanted school dad to do the same thing, and so I would say to him “Darling (but I probably said Babe!), please say something that helps her to feel good about herself.”

And he would say to me “But what do I say?”. “Say anything from your heart” I said. “Sure, but what do I say?” Ohmygosh! “Well, say something like “thank you for being you.” School dad tried it but he could not remember any words.

Having too many bits of paper

I needed to write down some words for him to help guide him, as well as myself, to help him to find his own words. And so began more scribbled notes and the book continued to evolve from bits of paper.

I originally wrote the first half of the book as the whole book. I made a draft and read it out aloud to my daughter. When I read it out to her, I found that hearing the words made me feel better.

The most unexpected feel good surprise

So one lunchtime as a I was sitting at my computer contemplating how to make an ebook, I got up to make myself some lunch and I realized that this book needed more. It needed a ‘grown-ups’ section.

I needed to tell myself that I was amazing – and so I did. The book has evolved over a couple of years and putting it together has definitely helped me to feel good!

And I hope they help you to feel good too.

Thanks for being here.
